Allied Projects Ltd. has a comprehensive health and safety program with safe, efficient production as our objective. We are fully committed to ensuring that practical and effective measures are in place to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers, subcontractors and the public. We consider Occupational Health and Safety to be an equal partner to productivity and quality. Adherence to our corporate safety program, the general contractor's safety policies and the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Regulations are conditions of employment at Allied Projects Ltd.
We have obtained our Certificate of Recognition in partnership with Alberta Construction Safety Association and Alberta Human Resources and Employment.
We have an in-house Safety Coordinator that continually works to keep our safety rating high and ensures our safety program is current with all new developments. Allied Projects' Safety Committee consists of representatives from both management and field staff, meeting regularly to review safety issues and implement ongoing improvements to our program.
Allied Projects has developed a Safety Award / Reward Program, adopting a "team approach" to accurately reflect the Allied philosophy, to encourage safe work practices in the field. The program is sponsored in full by the corporation, and its success is contingent on corporate safety performance. We are proud to confirm that Allied Projects Ltd. completed the calendar year 2002 with NO lost time accidents - a clear indication of both management and employee commitment to safety as this was 100% above the goal set for that year. 2003 thru 2006 saw Allied Projects again well below the industry average - our LTA rating over the past 5 years is 2.08, well below the industry average of 5.
We have an aggressive Modified Work Program in place, and all employees agree to participate as part of their orientation process. We have developed a Physician Letter which accompanies each employee requiring off-site medical aid, outlining our modified work program and requesting the doctor's advice on whether a return to regular duties is possible or if modified work should be undertaken and for what period.
General orientations are conducted for each new employee. In addition, as employees are assigned to a project or transferred from one project to another, they are given a site specific orientation at their new location.
We are committed to ongoing training of our staff. We hold regular training sessions for WHMIS and First Aid, as well as any job-specific training required. We ensure that each project crew has sufficient First Aiders and that all employees are trained in WHMIS at the first opportunity. Currently, more than 98% of our staff have recent WHMIS training. We also have an aggressive training program for our superintendents including ACSA's Leadership for Safety Excellence, to provide the tools necessary for them to administer our safety program on site. We regularly enrol our staff in additional courses involving construction, safety and management training.
Our staff is provided with all equipment necessary to perform their work safely and efficiently, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, fall arrest gear and breathing apparatus as required, etc.
Allied Projects Ltd has an employee volunteer Safety Committee. In 2006 the committee with input from other employees put together a complete health & safety manual that was printed and distributed to each foreman. Safe, efficient production is the objective of Allied Projects Ltd. ("Allied Projects") Safety Program.
Allied Projects is fully committed to ensuring that practical and effective measures are in place to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers, subcontractors and the public.

It is Allied Projects' policy to provide and maintain safe working conditions contributing to efficient and profitable operations.
